How far in advance should you book a private jet?
Four hours is enough for a standard flight out of a major European field: that is the minimum for a flight plan, a crew and clearance. In practice, book 48 to 72 hours ahead to have a choice of aircraft, and several weeks for saturated periods — the Cannes Film Festival, the Monaco Grand Prix, February half-term in the Alps.
What stretches the lead time
A PPR field demands prior permission, sometimes the day before. An altiport like Courchevel needs a qualified crew, rare and quickly booked. A non-Schengen destination adds customs formalities, and some countries require overflight permits counted in working days, not hours.
Does booking late cost more?
